Position Title: Executive Director
Organization: House of Bread
Location: 9 Orth Ave, Dayton, Ohio 45402
Reports to: Board of Directors
Position Overview:
The Executive Director (ED) of House of Bread is responsible for the overall leadership,
management, and operation of the organization. The ED will advance the mission of House of
Bread to provide free meals, hospitality, and related services to those in need. This individual will
work collaboratively with the Board of Directors, staff, volunteers, and community partners to
ensure the sustainability and growth of the organization’s programs and services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Management:

- Provide visionary and strategic leadership to House of Bread, aligning all activities
with the mission and goals of the organization. - Oversee the day-to-day operations, including program development, service
delivery, and administration. - Foster a positive and inclusive organizational culture that promotes collaboration,
transparency, and respect.

plans, policies, and goals. - Report regularly to the Board on the organization’s progress, financial status, and

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in nonprofit management, social services, business administration, or a related field (master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of five years of experience in a leadership role within a nonprofit organization, with seven or more years preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in fundraising, grant writing, and donor relations.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and financial reporting.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and public speaking skills.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Passion for the mission of House of Bread and commitment to serving those in need.
Compensation:
- Compensation and benefits are commensurate with experience.
